WLTW: Be Prepared, Accountability Tips, Instagram Nametags

Each week Annie Schiffmann hops on Instagram Live to find out what you learned this week and share what she learned about social media for theater and running your own business. It’s called What I Learned This Week. You can play along by using #WLTW and sharing what YOU’VE learned!

Deb Rabbai on Accountability

Improviser extraordinaire Deb Rabbai was joining Annie Schiffmann at a corporate training session. She learned about accountability and the difference between a promise and an intention. A promise means that you will be there and someone can actually count on you. An intention means you will do your best, but it may not be hard and fast that you’ll be there, but you will try your hardest.

Be Prepared with Your Tech and Your Profiles

Deb Rabbai was ready with her voice over mic so she was able to jump on WLTW. And shout out to Julia Bragg who knows that Annie always has her microphone with her to do videos on the fly and left a comment. (Microphones help to diminish ambient sound.)

Annie also mentioned a story about her husband Rob Schiffmann who was performing music in the Village when a Big Hollywood Guy wanted to hear more of his stuff. Rob had to scramble to get his Soundcloud page up so that Big Hollywood Guy could hear his song. But, imagine if during that conversation Rob could have pulled up his website, told BHG to click on his Music page so that he could listen to that song right then and there.

So in our house, we learned that you’ve got to have your tech - software and hardware set up and ready to go. Because you never know!

Instagram Nametags

Instagram rolled out a new feature where you can create a QR code so people can scan and follow you easily. Look in the upper right hand corner and the second option down says Nametag. Click on it and you’ll see that you can customize your nametag with emojis, colors, or fun selfies. (Note: Deb Rabbai tried to use this feature and it didn’t seem available to her, so it may be rolled out to certain accounts. But keep looking for it)

Join in the fun!
