WLTW: 02/24 - 03/02
Every Friday on Instagram Live I host a WLTW - or What I Learned This Week. It’s a fun way to share little bits of info that I picked up this week and to hear from you what you learned.
Here’s what I learned this week:
Even if it came out a few years ago, a book in your field still has relevance. I just plowed through The Art of Social Media and even though it was four years old - ancient in social media years - there were some excellent tips which still apply.
When you can meet your mentors, do.
You know how you have friends in your head? Like those celebrities that you know you would be friends with if you could actually meet them? I have online mentors. I don't get coffee with them and pick their brains, but I do consume their content and get so much value from them that they hold a special place in my brain and my heart. Gary Vaynerchuk is one of them. When he had a book signing five minutes from my house last week I got a babysitter and made a point to wait in line for over an hour to say hi and thank you. It was invigorating and inspiring and that is a good thing for anyone.
You Can Read Your Google Docs Offline
Super silly and practical, but if you need to access your Google Docs (and Sheets, and Slides) offline, all you have to do is enable it in your Google Drive settings. Just click the gear on the upper right corner and go to Settings. Then check the box like in this pic.
