That first day of rehearsal for a new project can make you feel - to quote Sondheim - “excited and scared.” But getting started working with Downstage Media is absolutely exciting and certainly not scary! Here is how you step into the light!
Kick Off Meeting
Once you sign up, you’ll get a confirmation email with a link to a page to schedule your Kick Start Meeting at a time that works for you - you are the star here!
In the Kick Off Meeting, we'll talk about big stuff and small stuff. The big stuff is your goals, your audience, and your strategy. The small stuff is how you like to be contacted, setting up your Weekly Checks Ins, and the best way to get in touch should you have any questions. It's usually about a 45 minute conversation.
Post Kick Off Meeting Goodies
Most packages involve a Brand Board where we outline which fonts, filters, and colors will be used consistently in your marketing. After your Kick Off Meeting, the Brand Board will be emailed within 3 business days so you can get started posting (or I can, depending on your package).
Within the first three business days you’ll also receive the link to your Content Calendar. It’s a shareable Google calendar so you’ll know what to post and when - or what Downstage will be posting for you, depending on your package. At your Kick Off Meeting we will have covered events, productions, or projects that you having coming up. They will all be folded into your Content Calendar along with some standard items that will act like a template for you from month to month. The Content Calendar is where you’ll see how your new social media presence will be innovative and show you as a leader among your peers.
Once we’ve got your infrastructure in place then either you’ll get to work on posting or Downstage will get to work posting for you. And we’ll post until it’s time for your first Weekly Check In.
Weekly Check In
The Weekly Check In is a fifteen minute phone call where we just make sure that all is going according to plan. If there are some bumps in the road, this is the time to figure out a way around them. Some packages have this Weekly Check In, although it should be mentioned that not all do.
Monthly Strategy Session
Finally, the last piece of the puzzle is a Monthly Strategy Session. This takes about 15 minutes to a half hour and usually occurs towards the end of the month (most likely in the third week) when we look at your upcoming month and work through any events, shows, rehearsals, travel plans, and speaking engagements you or your company may have. We’ll highlight the best way to get the most out of these events, content-wise and talk about the social media options that will put them in the best light!
And there you have it! Your first few weeks working with Downstage Media.
By the end of the first month working together you will have:

- A 30 Day Content Calendar tailored to you, your company, and your projects.
- A Kick Off Meeting
- 4 Weekly Check In conversations
- 1 Monthly Strategy Session
